Hi hi!!! Your friendly neighborhood Rocker Reporter here to bring you some news!!!
The official SB69 anime Twitter page just announced the release of the synopsis for the upcoming episode on their website!
The previous day, the trailer was released on the official SB69 YouTube channel, and it looks like it’ll be an exciting and interesting episode with both DOKONJOFINGER and ARCAREAFACT being in the same episode. Here is a very rough translation by yours truly on what the synopsis on the website says!
"DOKONJOFINGER, who continues to train as warriors to attend the upcoming festival, is out of money. Chairman Udas suddenly appears and presents them with a new trial: A battle of the Bands!! Moreover, their opponent is none other than ARCAREAFACT, who have decided to skydive from a plane!! Meanwhile, Mashumairesh!! will have a joint live with Plasmagica."
I don’t know about you guys, but I am very, very, VERY excited about this upcoming episode. As someone who is a big fan of ARCAREAFACT and DOKONJOFINGER, I look forward to seeing these two bands interact!
I’m also very excited about ARCAREAFACT in general especially since they’ve been somewhat set aside and underappreciated for several years after their debut back in 2016. As much as I love the other bands, my loyalty to them is very strong, and I just look forward to seeing them succeed, especially since they deserve as much recognition as the other bands that get more attention. I can go on and on about the golden boys and just how amazing they are overall, but that’s a side tangent for a stand-alone blog entry for another day, haha.
Also, since this has awakened the gears that is my theory brain, I’ve noticed that, throughout this entire trailer, Sojun himself looks very serious. You would think you would see him be his typical smug demeanor especially when faced with so much money and the potential to swindle a bunch of rich guys from their bank accounts, but the fact he looks THIS serious 99% of the trailer makes me think otherwise.
This screenshot from the website in particular intrigues me a lot. It looks like Sojun and Orion are in some alleyway of some kind, and all I can think of is “Sojun, what are you thinking?!?!?!?!?!” and "What's going oooooonnnn????!?!?!?!??!" Haha.

In a way, this gives me the impression that Sojun really takes music very seriously to the point that you cannot bribe him to cheat in a performance, and honestly, that warms my heart a lot (thank you for being this cool, nunu* www).
I bet you guys are confused why I’m complimenting the one character that proudly claims to be “The Contemptible King”, and I do not blame you. However, that is a whole side tangent that also deserves its own blog entry. Character analysis is something I would love to blog about in the future so look forward to that! (Side note: I was the one who helped write both wiki entries for Sojun and Argon last year!).
What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to this upcoming episode? What are your guys’ impressions of each band featured in episode 7? Feel free to share in the comments!

Notes:
*Nunu: The silly nickname the writer calls Sojun. They discovered this while talking to a Japanese friend of theirs on Twitter, and at first, they thought it came from the Japanese word for dog “inu” (Kanji:犬, Hiragana:いぬ; fun fact: komainus are half cat, half dog), but it turns out the reason is because the first kanji character in Sojun’s name (双) looks like two of the same katakana character ”ヌ” (nu) squished together, thus “Nunu” (ヌヌ) LOL.
